Standard Replacement Metering Rods & Jets for Turbocharged Corvair(TM) and 6 cylinder Corvette(TM) Engines
The jets and metering rods
of these carburetors are subject to wear as the metering rod moves in the jet.
In addition, many carburetors have had jet or metering rod changes or alterations
in the past 40 to 55 years. There are varying reports of the jet or metering
rod sizes originally used for each year. The original combinations are shown
in the following table. See the Hints page for detailed descriptions of the
locations of the Tag and Body numbers.

Replacement Jet & Metering Rod
Replace your worn or modified original carburetor jet and metering rod with a new precision jet and a matching Black Hawk Engineering metering rod. The original jet sizes are no longer available, so we use aftermarket jets and adjust the metering rod diameters to achieve the same flow rates. We have developed a table of replacement metering rods and jets that provide 3 steps richer, an exact replacement or the original and 3 steps leaner for each of the groups of years. The new jet and metering rod should be used together as a set.
